Goats on the Farmyard
Early 2021 we visited a friend’s barn to let the boys see their newest baby goats; we talked with them about their milking routine and goat’s milk in general.
Shortly after we brought our first two goats home to the farm. Bonnie is a mini Nubian, at her side was her 1 month old doeling “Snowball.”
We were interested in the ND because everyone we talked to raved about the quality and flavor of their milk. Bonnie’s Nubian influence really helps increase the quantity in which she produces!
Fall of 21 we bred Bonnie to a ND buck and in the Spring of 22 we began our milking journey! Bonnie gave us fresh milk all summer and early fall.
This year (2023) we have both Bonnie and Snowball in milk. Our family enjoys the fresh milk and soon, their milk will be in the soap available at Shop the Farmyard !
